Who can go to VCAT hearings?

VCAT hearings are usually open to the public, including the media. At VCAT mediation and compulsory conferences are held in private.

We send parties a copy of the decision relating to their case.

When do I get the final decision?

When we make a final decision on your case, we may give the order to you in writing on the same day or send it to you after the hearing.

What’s my VCAT reference number?

We give each case a reference number. Use this reference number whenever you contact us or the other people involved in the case.

When will you hear my residential tenancy dispute about bond, compensation or pet issues?

If you applied before 1 October 2023, we'll hear your case as soon as possible.
