Review a decision of the Victorian Legal Services Board

Examples of what VCAT can review include decisions to:

• refuse, suspend, cancel, amend or refuse to amend a lawyer's practising certificate or a registration certificate for a foreign lawyer
• require a legal practitioner to pay the costs of an investigation of their trust accounts.
• However, VCAT cannot review a decision of the Victorian Legal Services Board to disallow a claim (in whole or in part) against the fidelity fund or reduce the amount of the claim.

Make sure you have a copy of the Board's decision. It will tell you about your right to apply for a review and information about the time limits.
