Planning hearings and compulsory conferences at suburban VCAT venues

Since 2023, certain planning cases have been heard at VCAT locations outside the Melbourne CBD, specifically at Bundoora, Frankston and Oakleigh.
Changes proposed to take effect from 1 October 2025 will see more planning cases heard at these venues, with an expanded number of municipalities able to access the suburban services. We are looking forward to bringing our services directly to the community.
The types of cases to be heard at Bundoora, Frankston and Oakleigh will continue to be applications received under section 80 (conditions appeals) and under section 82 (objector appeals) of the Planning and Environment Act 1987.
Be sure to carefully read orders sent to you so that you know where the compulsory conference or hearing will be held.
We will usually conduct hearings and compulsory conferences at these venues for the following municipalities:
